On 18 September 2026 someone from Fountain TRT wrote to tell us our review of them was wrong. They were right, and the reason is worse than a wrong number.
We had been reviewing Fountain off a domain the company stopped maintaining — since the commit that created this site.
What we published, and for how long
fountaintrt.com looks like the obvious address for a clinic called Fountain
TRT. It resolves. It serves a real page, over HTTPS, with a real price on it. It
is also a legacy page the company still hosts but no longer updates. The
maintained site is fountain.net.
We published three different descriptions of this clinic. Two of them were wrong.

The first description is the one that should worry you most, and it is ours
alone. It was not a misreading of the wrong site. On that field there was no site
behind it at all — the seed entry carried treatments: ["injectabil"] with the
note "Doar injectabil", and neither Fountain domain has ever matched that.
Everything that was wrong
Not just the modality:
- Billing unit. Fountain bills per 4 weeks, not per month. We had published $199/mo. Over a year that is 13.04 cycles, not 12 — so our 12-month cost was $2,388 when it should have been $2,595. A $207 understatement.
- Availability. We said "All 50 states + DC". Fountain publishes a list of 25 states. That string was not from Fountain at all — our own page generated it whenever state data was missing.
- Legal entity. We had Fountain Wellness, LLC. It is Fountain Vitality, Inc., contracting with four named independent practices.
- HIPAA. We recorded no privacy notice published. There is one.
- Labs. We recorded "not stated". They are included in the membership.
- The label. We had given it "Best Cream-Only Protocol". It is not cream-only.
Its score moved 7.5 → 7.8 and its rank #13 → #7 once the evidence was corrected. The score was allowed to land where the corrected evidence put it. It was not aimed.
Why none of our checks caught it
This is the part worth publishing.
This site runs a weekly price verifier. It had been returning success every week. It was reading a real, live page that returned HTTP 200 with a real $199 on it. Nothing 404'd. Nothing redirected. No gate failed.
Every check we own asks whether the number matches the page. Not one asks whether the page is still the right page. A stale-domain failure passes all of them, silently, forever. It had done so since 4 June.
Two further defects surfaced only because the clinic wrote:
- "All 50 states + DC" was being asserted for 15 of 20 clinics whenever we had no state data — turning missing information into a positive nationwide availability claim, in the visible table and in the machine-readable schema. Absence now reads as absence.
- Every review page claimed HSA/FSA eligibility for all 20 clinics, identically, verified for none of them. Fountain asked us to drop it or verify it. We could not verify it for them, which meant we could not verify it for anyone. It is gone.
Neither of those was Fountain's problem. One clinic's letter found them.
Where we did not simply take their word
We treated the letter as a set of claims to check, not as instructions.
Fountain told us fountaintrt.com "is not them". Their own Terms of Use on
fountain.net name fountain.net, fountaintrt.com and fountainglp.com as
the three websites of Fountain Vitality, Inc. We now read the current domain
exclusively — which is the outcome they asked for — but we do not record the two
as unrelated companies, because the clinic's own legal page says they are the
same one.
They also told us the current site lists 50 states. It does not. We fetched every page with caching defeated and rendered the FAQ in a real browser with the accordions expanded: the strings "50 states", "District of Columbia" and "DC" do not appear anywhere on the site. The published list is 25.
They then replied with their state list in full. We compared it name by name against what we had corrected our data to: 25 against 25, exact match.
What is still open
The register is worth nothing if it only records the parts we resolved:
- Our Trustpilot figure (4.4 from 314 reviews) is keyed to the legacy domain. Trustpilot returned 403 on every route we tried, so we neither re-verified ours nor adopted the 4.9 the clinic's site claims.
- The clinical score still rests on a physician quote taken from the legacy domain, not yet reconfirmed on the current one.
Why this is on the site rather than in a changelog
A ranking is a claim that we did the work. The only way that claim means anything is if we publish the times we did not.
We were wrong about Fountain for 106 days, across a review page, 38 comparison URLs, the homepage table, the cost calculators and the quiz. A reader who chose a clinic on our page during that window got a worse answer than they should have, and no amount of process description makes that untrue.
What we can say is what changed: the domain is corrected, the two defects it exposed are fixed for every clinic, and this entry names what is still unresolved rather than closing it because the letter was answered.
